~ Today’s Program: Kiwanis and Rotary Discussion and Updates ~

We had an open discussion of a variety of topics, much of which included overview of the Kiwanis Club and their activities.  Some highlights from our discussions:

  • Kiwanis Club of Newberg has 32 members
  • Key Club is the youth club similar to Rotary’s Interact Club
  • Bruce Steffensen, our guest, is on board of Kiwanis and is a paster at 2nd Street Community Church
  • Our guests discussed their funding of the Local Resource Rooms at the Newberg School District,
  • They also shared about their struggles related to COVID but mentioned that they were able to do their big annual fundraiser, the Kiwanis Golf Tournament.  The only catch was that it was delayed into the Fall season and it ended up a VERY rainy experience, but fun all the same.
