Rotary Exchange Student Program
The Newberg Rotary Club looks for qualified high school Sophomores to participate in this educational and cultural youth exchange program. This program involves students traveling to host countries for approximately 11 months. Students live with host families during their stay while attending a local high school. Interested sophomores are invited to apply and if selected, would spend their junior year in a host country.
The Rotary Exchange Student program offers an opportunity for travel, study and to experience adventure in a foreign country. Exchanges are possible in the following countries: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Chile, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain-Ireland, Guatemala, Hungary, Italy, Mexico, Japan, Peru, Philippines, Russia, Thailand, and Taiwan.
Major expenses to students and their family include airfare to and from the host country, an emergency fund of $500, and incidental expenses. Host families provide food and lodging. Most host Rotary clubs provide a small monthly stipend.
