Newberg Noon Rotary

Welcome to Newberg Noon Rotary club site. We are currently a very active club in District 5100, proudly boasting a membership of 71: 56 active and 15 honorary - and growing!

I've considered it an honor to serve as the Club's president. Now that I am eight (8) months into my term, I am excited about all that our members have accomplished. In October 2008, more than twenty (20) members participated in a visioning process. Out of that effort will come a succession plan and five-year plan for our Club. In January 2009, we hosted the Insam Rotary Club of

Keumsan County, Choongchungnam Do Province, Korea and entered into a Sister Club Agreement. This past month, more than forty-two (42) club members and others traveled to Guatemala to provide services (dental, medical, water, micro-banking) to two remote villages outside of Antigua. This marks the 7th year of service to Guatemala; and what was remarkable about this year, was the improvements we have seen in the villages we support . Visit our blogsite at (www.newbergrotaryclub.wordpress.com). We also attracted the interest and support from other Rotary clubs in California and Washington. Thank you to all who have made this service project such a great success.

During the coming months our club will continue to operate and respond with a vitality and responsibility to meet some exciting challenges. We have two major fund raising events coming up and we hope that everyone in the community will come out and participate.

Some of you may want to become members. Just as I was invited to join more than five (5) years ago, you too can apply for membership in Rotary and be serving the community: flipping pancakes at the Pancake Breakfast or flying off to Guatemala. Contact any of our members for an application form.

We hope as you surf through our website you find Rotary to be an organization committed to service in our community (locally and globally). Our goal is consistent with the motto of Rotary International: ROTARY SHARES. It is our commitment to enrich the lives of all not only economically but socially and spiritually, to build a greater sense of sharing in what is already a community that has a tremendous amount of responsibility and pride!

Our club is 71 years young with a commitment to participate, build, invigorate, energize, lead and grow, and above all, to observe the first commandment of Rotary: HAVE FUN! Our credo is what we refer to as "The Four Way Test": Of the things we think, say or do

  • Is it the TRUTH?
  • Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  • Will it build GOOD WILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIP?
  • Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
